A Texas native, she has served as a teacher, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Director of Special Programs, Chief Human Resources Officer, and Superintendent. She holds a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Bilingual Studies, a master’s degree in Educational Leadership, and certifications as a teacher, principal, and superintendent.
A graduate of Catholic schools in Monterrey, Mexico, Dr. Gonzalez credits her Salesian and Marist education with shaping her vocation as an educator. She is also the proud mother of two adult children, one serving in public education and the other conducting medical research in regenerative medicine. Recently relocated to Austin to be closer to her family, she is a parishioner of Santa Cruz Catholic Church and is honored to support the mission of Catholic education by helping schools foster academic excellence and faith formation.
