About Saints & Scholars
The Saints & Scholars, Celebrating Catholic Schools Dinner & Awards Ceremony is the Catholic Schools' signature fundraising event.
The Saints & Scholars Gala is a beloved community tradition and the catalyst for the transformation of students, families and communities in Central Texas. Each year nearly 600 Catholic leaders in education, business, parishes and friends gather to support the Diocese of Austin's mission of putting Catholic education within reach for students of all backgrounds.

Most Reverend Daniel E. Garciabishop of austinBishop Daniel E. Garcia was born on August 30, 1960, and grew up in Waco and Cameron. He is bilingual in English and Spanish and has three younger sisters. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Austin on May 28, 1988, by Bishop John E. McCarthy.
Throughout his ministry, Bishop Garcia served in numerous parishes and leadership roles. In 1995, he was named the founding pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Austin, where he guided the community through its formation and multiple building projects, including the construction of a permanent church and sanctuary.
In 2014, Archbishop Joe S. Vásquez appointed him Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia for the Diocese of Austin. The following year, Pope Francis appointed him Auxiliary Bishop of Austin. In 2018, Bishop Garcia was named the Bishop of the Diocese of Monterey, California, where he served until he was named the sixth bishop of Austin on July 2, 2025.

Yes, all of the guest fields are optional when buying your table online. It is a good idea to confirm with them about any potential dietary restrictions and to let us know, at your earliest opportunity so we can properly accommodate those.

The dress code for the event is cocktail attire.

Self-parking is complimentary - you will receive a chaser ticket at registration. The Valet Parking entrance is available for $20 per vehicle.

Please check-in at the registration tables located on the 2nd floor (when parking in the garage). For valet parking, there will be additional registration tables on the 1st floor by the Zilker ballroom. The gala will be held in the Zilker ballroom.
